- Photographer: What was wrong with your pictures?
- Student: I didn't like them.
- P: What didn't you like?
- S: My face.
- P: Uhm.. What EXACTLY didn't you like about it? Just so we don't do it again.
- S: uh.. I don't know.. My smile?
- ....
- This conversation is very common in the field I'm working in with these high school kids. When they come in for retakes we'll ask them "what was wrong with your pictures?" it's always the same answer, "my face". Hmm.. Can you be more specific? Please!? It would help us photographers know what exactly you didn't like and hopefully you'll like them so we won't see your face again.
- Kids these days are more insecure and vague. I think tv and magazines have made them more unsure of them self. (very annoying).. Retaking their pictures can take more than 15-20 mins to satisfy them then just taking 5-10 mins to take their pictures. I just wish they can accept themselves for how they look. If they want to blame someone, they should blame their parents for making a creature who is very picky, snobby, spoiled, and unhappy. Sorry, you don't like your face but don't blame the photographers for it, blame it on your parents or how about blaming it on yourself because there is an invention called makeup. It can do miracles, sometimes. We're not magicians. Parents needs to teach their kids that everyone can't be picture perfect and they also need to teach them courtesy, some of these students are rude. You give us attitude we'll give it right back. Remember who is taking your pictures.
- P: 'Next student please..'
